About Larche Communications Inc.
Our Journey from Local Radio to National Brand Strategy
Larche Communications Inc. (LCI) is a proudly independent Canadian broadcasting and marketing company built on passion, innovation, and community values. Founded and led by Paul Larche, LCI began with a simple mission—Make Our Customers Happy Always—or MOCHA, as it became known internally. That philosophy shaped every decision, from the programming on-air to the way clients and communities were served.
LCI made its mark in radio with a portfolio of stations that quickly became regional leaders. In 2001, LCI launched KICX 99.5 in Kitchener, Ontario—one of the few independently licensed stations at the time—which was sold to Rogers in 2008. Meanwhile, with over 80 amazing employees, the company operated top-rated stations in Midland, Orillia, Sudbury, and Owen Sound under the KICX and The Dock brands, all known for excellence in local content, Canadian music, and strong community ties. The company received several industry and local market accolades, including KICX 106 being named Canadian Country Music Association’s Station of the Year eight times. In 2018, LCI sold its remaining radio assets to Bell Media, concluding a successful chapter in independent broadcasting.
The company’s entrepreneurial spirit didn’t stop at radio. In 2015, Larche launched a digital division to provide online services to its radio clients. That division soon evolved into Larche, a full-fledged branding and marketing agency. By 2018, Larche was helping clients across Canada and the U.S. build bold, emotionally resonant brands. The 2019 acquisition of Tyger Shark, a respected agency with clients in Canada and the US, expanded Larche’s reach and capabilities even further.
In February 2025, the agency was sold to Treefrog, marking the next chapter for the team and affirming Larche’s legacy as a builder of successful, values-driven ventures.
From radio waves to brand strategy, Larche Communications Inc. stood for one thing above all: making meaningful connections—on-air, online, and in the communities it served.
